FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- Is the magic item maker free?
- Yes. There is nothing to pay for and no account to create. Open the editor, fill in the item and export it.
- Is this a random magic item generator?
- No. You write the item and the card is laid out for you. To start from an existing item, copy any of the 258 SRD magic items into the editor.
- Can I print my magic items as cards?
- Yes. Put your items in a Collection and export it as an A4 PDF. Each sheet holds nine 2.5 × 3.5-inch item cards, separated by 3 mm, and there is a black and white option for printing at home.
- What happens when an item description is too long for a card?
- In a Collection export, a long description is split across as many cards as it needs, and each card is numbered. A single item's PNG gets wider instead: the description flows into extra columns so the whole text fits on one image.
- Can I start from an official item?
- Yes. The library holds all 258 magic items from the D&D 2024 SRD. Open one and choose Copy to editor to get an editable copy, then change what you like.
- Where are my items saved?
- In your browser, on your device. A free account backs up to 20 creatures and items, and Premium syncs your library, Collections included, across devices.
